Back on my grind...

One of the main reasons I started writing this blog was to help me get my life back on track(for the hundredth time ha).  Over the past year I have felt adrift in a vast sea of mediocrity of my own making.  I've squandered opportunities and generally let life pass me by while just going through the motions day in and day out.  I'm tired of doing this and not being happy.  I want to live the life I know I can have and I am going to make it happen.  Writing is my first step to healing mind, body, soul and building back up some self confidence, telling myself that I can accomplish anything I set my mind to all I need to do is work, hard.  After a couple days off I battled though aching joints(ankles/knees due to rain I think), a wicked case of heartburn, and a general lack of energy to get to the gym today and put in some work.

20kg Kettlebell
It was brought to my attention by a very close friend that some pictures of the equipment I use would help to illustrate some of my points better so I am including a few in here.  I started off with the standard stretching and elliptical warm up then moved into some bent over rows with a 20kg kettlebell.  My reps on this one definitely increased significantly and I was able to get in 4 sets today.  It might be time to kick it up to the 24kg bell next week.
The infamous Captain's Chair
After the kettlebell I went back to the Captian's chair again where I did about 50 leg raises.  My abs felt like they could handle more by my arms and chest got tired from holding myself up so I decided to move on to something else.  I finally finished up by using the rope pulley for some work on my triceps.  I had the machine set at 35lbs and it felt much easier than last week.  This is another exercise that will probably see a weight increase over the next week as I can feel myself getting stronger and feeling more energized by the day.  As usual this workout was powered by some amazing music.

Today's mix is about 7 months old and comes to us from Cinnamon Chasers.  This description from his soundcloud page tells you what this paticular project is all about.

"Cinnamon Chasers is a nu-disco alias of music producer Russ Davies, exploring the colorful world of fluro-electro beats, warm melodiums and tripped out italo. Cinnamon Chasers cites early pioneers like Giorgio Moroder, Vangelis, Jean-Micheal Jarre, and KLF as key influences and leading to modern talent such as Alax Braxe, Rex The Dog, Junior Boys."

The mix we have here is straight up lightspeed-time-travelin'-we-just-went-to-motherfuckin'-plaid type of shit.  It jumps into the Delorean and floors the gas until it reaches 88mph and rips a hole in the space time continuum.  Yes it is that good and will keep your energy up and keep you moving non-stop.  I hope you enjoy it as much as I do as this has been one of my go to mixes for working out over the last 7 months!
